Family Ministry
"Children are a heritage from the LORD, offspring a reward from him. Like arrows in the hands of a warrior are children born in one’s youth. Blessed is the man whose quiver is full of them."
-Psalm 127:3-5
Since we take Jesus’ teaching seriously, we take our children’s ministry seriously. Our Family Ministry team has the privilege of seeing unhindered faith.
At Imago Dei Church, we provide developmentally appropriate Gospel-centered care and teachings for children birth – 5th grade that encourage them to grow in their relationship with Jesus as they grow with one another! We have four classrooms available:
Infant Nursery (Birth – 18 months)
Toddler Nursery (18 months – 3 years)
Early Childhood (4 years – 1st grade)
Elementary (2nd – 5th grade)

Our Three Priorities
The goal of our Family Ministry is to present children and parents with tools that will guide them deeper into relationship with Jesus and each other. We strive to equip parents in the discipleship of their children and simultaneously encourage them to have faith like a child.
Gospel Centrality
We believe that the Gospel is central to the Christian faith, so we are making it central to our Family Ministry. While teaching children good morals and memorizing Bible stories has value, the Gospel still must be central. Noah’s Ark has far more to do with judgment and mercy than it does animals and rainbows. We want to make sure that our children are pointed to Jesus through every interaction and every story, because we believe that every story ultimately points to Him already. After all, Jesus said that we are to let the little children come to Him.
Family Discipleship
As a church, we believe and accept that God’s Word identifies the home as the primary place for the discipleship of children. Our Family Ministry doesn’t seek to take the place of parents in discipling their kids, but rather to intentionally position themselves to support, equip, and walk with parents in family discipleship. As a church, we hope to support families as best as we can by staying connected and providing resources and tips for ways parents can encourage and support their children in the faith at home. We also encourage kids to take part and watch their parents participate in “church stuff” (REM groups, fellowship and mission opportunities, meetings, etc.) so that they can see and grow in what being the church is all about!
Safety
Even though we believe that our God is a God of redemption, we must still take all of the necessary precautions to make sure our children are safe. All of our volunteers in Family Ministry complete a background check before serving. Our kIDs Ministry wing is always supervised to ensure that no one except for children, parents, and volunteers are in that area, unless being accompanied by a trusted church representative. In addition, we use an online check-in system that helps to ensure proper care of every child. Parents receive a special tag upon checking their child in that they must show the volunteers before checking out their child.
