The Mission
The mission of Imago Dei is the same mission Jesus gave his followers: "Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit."
We say it like this: Living out the Image of God in Milwaukee for the good of all.

The Vision
The vision of Imago Dei - or how we walk out our mission - is drawn from a combination of three things: Our Strengths, Our Passions and the Needs of the Community We Serve. Working from these three categories helps us foster a church body of authentic believers, walking out the mission given to us by Jesus because we desire to witness a city transformed in every way by the life changing reality of the gospel.
Our Strengths
So what are our strengths at ID? There are many, but some of them include: generosity, deep relationships, love of kids and family, caring for all members of the body in tangible and practical ways.
Our Passions
At Imago Dei we are passionate about many things, but they all fall under one of our three Core Values:
Gospel Delight
We aim to have every area of ministry encourage and reflect our delight in the Word of God and the saving work of Jesus Christ.
Community
In addition, we are extremely passionate about spending time together in community. We worship corporately on Sundays, spend time during the weeks meeting in Small Groups & show up for each other in times of joy, mourning & everywhere in between. Together in community is how we believe God intended each person to walk through life.

Community Needs
Every community needs Jesus. We all know this and strive to preach the Gospel diligently. Oftentimes, though, the best way to share the Good News of Jesus is by meeting the practical needs of those around us. Jesus specifically speaks of the importance of this in Matthew:
"Then the King will say to those on his right, ‘Come, you who are blessed by my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world. For I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me drink, I was a stranger and you welcomed me, I was naked and you clothed me, I was sick and you visited me, I was in prison and you came to me."
We desire to know the needs of the surrounding community so that we can practically be the hands and feet of Jesus to a hurting world.

Our Five Distinctives
distinctive [di-ˈstiŋ(k)-tiv] marking as separate or different: serving to distinguish
Gospel Centrality
We believe that the Gospel is central to the Christian faith, so we are making it central to our Ministry. While teaching good morals and memorizing Bible stories has value, the Gospel still must be central. Noah’s Ark has far more to do with judgment and mercy than it does animals and rainbows. We want to make sure that our hearts are pointed to Jesus through every interaction and every story, because we believe that every story ultimately points to Him already.
Diversity
God created the nations. He created culture. If we are going to fully experience God, we must embrace the diversity that He created to display His glory. We embrace the joys of diversity through appreciating different forms and styles of worship. We embrace the challenges of diversity through building relationships with people who are different from us. And we embrace the pain of diversity through doing the hard work of racial reconciliation.
Leadership Development
The world today is suffering from a lack of leadership. There was a time in history when the world looked to the church to provide leadership in many different spheres of life including art, music, government, and more. We believe God has positioned Imago Dei to discover, develop, and deploy leaders into the world. We are committed to developing future pastors, church planters and missionaries as well as web designers, business leaders, and musicians.
Team of Teams
Imago Dei is committed to ministry as a team of teams. There is only one superstar in this church, and His Name is Jesus. The rest of us are just trying to follow His lead, together. We believe that we can best live out the image of God by serving Him as a team of teams. Jesus did this with the 12, Paul with Timothy, Titus, and others; in fact, it’s challenging to find an example of individualistic ministry in the Bible. And typically, where you can, the story doesn’t end well!
Mission
It has long been a desire at ID to be missional minded. Sharing the Gospel with our neighbors is what God has called and commanded us to do. At Imago Dei we look for ways to be the hands and feet of Jesus to those in our community, using every opportunity possible to share the love and grace of God with all we meet.
