Small Groups at ID
Because of the core values at Imago Dei, small groups are a key aspect of our church.
ID Small Groups meet regularly to build relationship, study the Bible, engage in meaningful discussion and encourage each other to live our everyday lives in light of who God is and what He’s done through Jesus. It is in this way that people in our church can deeply know and be deeply known by others. Small Groups allow us to link arms and walk through the ups and downs of life together.
At ID we aim for small groups of 8-14 adults (groups with children are usually larger).

R.E.M. - What does it mean?
At Imago Dei our core values are Gospel Delight, Community and Mission. Naturally, our desire is for Small Groups to focus on and apply those values in practical ways. In essence, our purpose is encouraging people to live out their God-given identity in the everyday stuff of life.
We believe that our God-given identity is best lived out when our small groups are:
We believe that our God-given identity is best lived out when our small groups are:
- Relational (R) - forming deep relationships with each other builds Community
- Educational (E) - spending time together educating each other in God's Word brings about Gospel Delight
- Missional (M) - making sure that our desire to build community and our delight in the gospel spreads outward to neighbors desperately in need of Jesus is our Mission
TWO types of R.E.M. Groups
Rotational Groups
- Group meetings ROTATE between the whole group, gals, and guys (possible additional monthly hangout w/kids, dependent on group)
- Education and Relationship focus when together, Mission component every 1-2 months.
Repeating Groups
- Group meets together first three weeks of the month, takes the fourth week off, repeating this weekly rhythm
- Likely Education and Relationship time weekly, mission monthly, but ultimately up to group
"I look forward to REM every week. It means the world to have friends walking alongside me and encouraging me as we follow Jesus together!"
- Kendra
"It is so important to have a reoccurring touch point with people in the church body…having that touch point with scripture is a huge value!
- Victoria
"It’s an awesome way to get plugged into a church,
surrounded by a community of believers,
and to grow with that community."
